Ungrouded

If you remember last time we read up, we had to wait 6 months to make sure my HCG remained negative. The 6 months was long but ultimately for my mental health, I think it definitely helped.

I went in February 6th for the bloodwork appointment and got a call from my Dr. assistant ,Jeni, I really appreciate her. She definitely made me feel like I wasn’t a number in a sea of people trying to seek fertility treatments. She told me she was glad to see me back on the schedule.

Shawn and I decided that we would try another round of IUI. And if you don’t know your cycle begins basically with the start of your period. I had a little bit of drama to start partially because I was out of town when it started and wasn’t sure if we were going to miss our chance to start this month. But we got stuff scheduled for the day after we returned. We additionally had drama with finance because not enough notification was given to the finance department to get the prior approval from insurance, which seemed wild to me because they had known for 2 weeks prior. But we got things settled and we begun the cycle , again Thanks to Jeni sticking up for me.

When doing IUI, you take medicine, in my case letrozole to help encourage your follicles to grow and promote a healthy uterus. We took it for 5 days and then starting day 11 we would start monitoring how big the follicle/follicles were and monitoring bloodwork as well. I, of course, got to see my girl, Natalie, my favorite nurse practitioner. She welcomed me with open arms. During my visits my follicles were a little slow to grow but we did have 2 follicles develop which had never happened before. I went in Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and finally the follicles were big enough to take a shot to trigger me to ovulate. We were scheduled to go in Monday and put the “goods” in me. I was so happy to have Shawn with me and of course Natalie. She always makes Shawn blush because his numbers are really really good. She let’s Shawn push the plunger and then would jokingly talk to my stomach telling the “little guys” to go to the right where the follicles are.

Now, we wait again…I swear I’m meant to learn patience in this lifetime because I have none 😆 If you don’t know the 2 week wait happens between ovulation and your potential pregnancy test or period. Testing too early can mean inaccuracies in some cases. If you’ve ever been in my position you know this is the longest 2 weeks of your life. So here we are waiting, crossing our fingers and sending sticky thoughts to my body.
